Minglanilla is a first income class municipality in the province of Cebu,Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 113,178 people. Minglanilla is part of a metropolitan area known as Metro Cebu.
It is known as the "Sugat Capital" of the south. The Kabanhawan (Cebuano for
"Resurrection") Festival is held annually on Easter Sunday in honor
of the Risen Christ.
Minglanilla is located approximately 15 kilometres
(9.3 mi) south of Cebu City. It is bounded on the southwest
by Naga, Cebu;
on the northwest byToledo City; on the northeast by Talisay City;
and on the southeast by theBohol Strait. It has a land area of
approximately 65.6 km².
Minglanilla is administratively subdivided into
19 barangays.

The following activities are in its devotion to the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, the municipality of Minglanilla has long held the distinction of being the “Sugat Capital” of the south, a title which is defined in the celebration of the Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival.With its center taking shape in “Sugat sa Minglanilla”, the Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival has been widely supported by the public for years, with devotees, festival attendees and spectators taking part in each and every Sugat-Kabanhawan Festival, year in and year out.
